Some pictures subtly conceal their real meaning and purpose.

Inspired by brilliant pictures of fauna and flora at “Life” series presently on air at Discovery Channel, these pictures collection is an effort to find art at unlikely place – DISEASE.

These pictures have been culled from an archive of a plant pathologist team mate who has painstakingly built this collection from assorted resources for a technical presentation. Pictures represent some common insect, pests and diseases of fruit and vegetables.

Sharing Mediocrity

How does one handle situations at work place when one has to share mediocrity, an old time friend asked me over a drink one fine evening last week. Shall he suffer in silence, hit back or try to educate some incompetent nincompoops who are hell bent to have their say because of their being in position of authority.

Theory of aerodynamics ….true or false ….According to the theory of aerodynamics, as may be readily demonstrated through wind tunnel wind experiments, the bumblebee is unable to fly. This is because the size, weight and shape of his body in relation to the total wingspread make flying impossible. But the bumblebee, being ignorant of these scientific truths, goes ahead and flies anyway-and makes a little honey every day.

Dr. Downhill’s Staircase

Once upon a time , Titanic Ltd. , a small and sinking company in the land of milk and honey, hired certain Dr. Downhill to assist Mr. Dolittle Speakless, the MD of the company. Mr. Dolittle was a much worried man. Titanic Ltd. was not sinking fast enough. His visions was to see the company listed among top ten most mismanaged companies in the universe. Time was running out fast. So one day he called Dr. Downhill to his chamber and empowered him to take any action to realise his dreams. Dr. Downhill, quickly settled on the job. He consulted his caboodle and in no time identified Human Resource Destruction department (HRD) as a major problem area.

In the course of time he invented following simple management techniques which to this day are known as Downhill’s stairs. This stair is still being used by unprofessionals the world over to go downhill.

You shall double speak.
You shall promote yourself.
You shall a fake understanding.
You shall just pretend delegation.
You shall create insecurity in subordinates.
You shall obstruct promotions of subordinates.
You shall downgrade subordinates behind their backs.
You shall cultivate and consult only your blue eyed boys.
You shall do to subordinates what was done to you by seniors.
You shall ask subordinates to do jobs that are others responsibility.

Needless to add , Mr. Dolittle’s dreams came true. Happy sinking.
